Founded in 2018 by designer Caterina Vrabec, Formaminima is an independent design studio based in Trieste, Italy. After studying Product Design at IUAV University of Venice and Sustainable Product Design at Kingston University London, Vrabec established the studio to explore the relationship between contemporary design and Italy’s enduring craft traditions.

Working with specialised artisans across the country, Formaminima creates lighting, furniture and collectible objects that celebrate the expressive qualities of materials including Venetian crystal, solid brass, marble and fine porcelain. Rather than viewing craftsmanship as a legacy to preserve, the studio embraces it as a living practice through which traditional techniques can be reinterpreted for the present.

Defined by geometric clarity, restrained forms and meticulous attention to detail, Formaminima’s collections reveal a thoughtful dialogue between material, light and space. Each object reflects a commitment to precision, longevity and the quiet sophistication that has become the studio’s signature.

Presented internationally at exhibitions including Salone Satellite and COLLECTIBLE, Formaminima continues to establish itself as a distinctive voice in contemporary collectible design, where material integrity and artisanal excellence remain at the heart of every creation.
