As a service to our customers, we arrange the shipping of orders via one of our preferred carriers. Shipping cost will be calculated after confirmation of your delivery address. We will email you within 3 days with the quotation for your acceptance. You have the right to withdrawal from the purchase if delivery cost will not meet your expectations.
All charges are proforma and will be included on your order’s final balance.
Two options are available :
White glove service: our shipping partner will unload, unpack, check and install the product in the room of your choice.
Simple service: our shipping partner will unload the product and deliver it in front of the building. If you choose to manage your own freight and delivery, Studio Fenice must be notified of the specific details of the movement. The fee to move the product from a manufacturer to a terminal for “customer’s own” pick-up will be added to the balance due. The location of the pick-up by the client or the client’s agent may trigger sales tax responsibility at that location.
Ownership of the product transfers to the client upon the freight carrier taking possession of the order for transport. Therefore, responsibility for damage occurring in-transit is the owner’s and all claims for freight damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt. If customer selects their own freight carrier, freight claims must be filed directly with the selected carrier. Studio Fenice is not responsible for a customer’s own or third party freight damage and claim.

The designer
José María Balmaceda is a textile designer from Mexico City. He began his career working as a costume designer before finding his true passion: textiles. That’s when José María decided to work with Chiapas textile artists.
While looking to make a change in his professional practice he undertook a trip to India and Nepal, where he discovered a world full of fibers and techniques that he had not seen before. That’s when the real adventure began.
Having met his Indian and Nepalese partners, who eventually became his family, José María began working on the pieces for his first collection: Fossil. A collection that brought together his fears and demons to bring you to light. After fighting and conquering them he fossilized them into seven irregular mats made in Kathmandu, Nepal, where they experimented with techniques and materials to create something new.
The roots of the artisans are deeply woven with their own. With each trip to India and Nepal José María is inspired by Asian culture and mixes it with his Mexican heritage, giving his work a multicultural light.
Balmaceda is an artist in constant development, always pulling the threads of the unknown.
