Desire Line No. 4, Santa Maria La Ribera
By Kara Rooney
The fourth in a series of eight textiles that map the disappearance of culturally significant architecture in the Centro area of CDMX. Included in this design is the phrase “Mas vale nunca que tarde” by the collective street art movement, Accion Poetica. Roughly translated to “better never than late”, the turn of phrase is both an acknowledgment of the gentrification that is reshaping the city and the power of language to challenge its destructive force via poetic wit.
As a service to our customers, we arrange the shipping of orders via one of our preferred carriers. Shipping cost will be calculated after confirmation of your delivery address. We will email you within 3 days with the quotation for your acceptance. You have the right to withdrawal from the purchase if delivery cost will not meet your expectations.
All charges are proforma and will be included on your order’s final balance.
Two options are available :
White glove service: our shipping partner will unload, unpack, check and install the product in the room of your choice.
Simple service: our shipping partner will unload the product and deliver it in front of the building. If you choose to manage your own freight and delivery, Studio Fenice must be notified of the specific details of the movement. The fee to move the product from a manufacturer to a terminal for “customer’s own” pick-up will be added to the balance due. The location of the pick-up by the client or the client’s agent may trigger sales tax responsibility at that location.
Ownership of the product transfers to the client upon the freight carrier taking possession of the order for transport. Therefore, responsibility for damage occurring in-transit is the owner’s and all claims for freight damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt. If customer selects their own freight carrier, freight claims must be filed directly with the selected carrier. Studio Fenice is not responsible for a customer’s own or third party freight damage and claim.

Kara Rooney’s work encompasses performativity, discourse, and memory.
At the heart of her program is discourse. “Language is the driving force behind my work. I am interested in the intersection of the body, word, and image as a means of gaining deeper insight into how we communicate with each other—how we formulate identity (or hide it)—as well as to how language’s inherent blind spots affect our sense of collective consciousness”.
