Created using indigo and charcoal, Gathering Storm IV reflects Andrea Bores’ continued exploration of landscape as an unfolding and unstable condition — shaped by movement, memory, and material transformation. Through a process guided equally by intention and unpredictability, pigments gather, disperse, and settle across the surface, forming atmospheric compositions that evoke distant terrains, shifting skies, and the quiet force of elemental change.

Rather than representing a specific geography, the work moves toward sensation — the feeling of weather approaching, of matter in transition, of landscapes altered over time. Indigo and charcoal become active collaborators within the process, carrying textures, density, and traces that shape an abstract visual language suspended between erosion and emergence.

Gathering Storm IV invites contemplation of the natural world not as stillness, but as continual becoming.

As a service to our customers, we arrange the shipping of orders via one of our preferred carriers. Shipping cost will be calculated after confirmation of your delivery address. We will email you within 3 days with the quotation for your acceptance. You have the right to withdrawal from the purchase if delivery cost will not meet your expectations.

All charges are proforma and will be included on your order’s final balance.

Two options are available :

White glove service: our shipping partner will unload, unpack, check and install the product in the room of your choice.

Simple service: our shipping partner will unload the product and deliver it in front of the building. If you choose to manage your own freight and delivery, Studio Fenice must be notified of the specific details of the movement. The fee to move the product from a manufacturer to a terminal for “customer’s own” pick-up will be added to the balance due. The location of the pick-up by the client or the client’s agent may trigger sales tax responsibility at that location.

Ownership of the product transfers to the client upon the freight carrier taking possession of the order for transport. Therefore, responsibility for damage occurring in-transit is the owner’s and all claims for freight damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt. If customer selects their own freight carrier, freight claims must be filed directly with the selected carrier. Studio Fenice is not responsible for a customer’s own or third party freight damage and claim.

Gathering Storm IV is a one-of-a-kind work.

Created through an inherently organic process using indigo and charcoal, each composition emerges through unique interactions between gesture, material, and chance.

No two works can ever be replicated, making its singularity an essential part of the piece itself.

The designer

Born in Mexico and based in Mexico City, Andrea Bores explores the shifting structures of landscape through a practice rooted in material experimentation.

Working across textile, pigment, fiber, ink, and natural processes, her work reflects an ongoing dialogue between matter, time, and transformation. Rather than depicting landscape as fixed, Bores approaches it as a living system — unstable, fluid, and in constant motion — where chance, gesture, and the memory of materials shape poetic and atmospheric compositions.

Her work has been exhibited internationally and includes residencies at Casa Wabi and Casa Nano
